I worked as a Shipping Executive before I switched to be a Financial Adviser 5 years ago. My job was very stable then but I wasn't happy with my 9-5 routine. I eventually pursued this career because I found meaning in helping people with their finance, especially towards insurance and investment planning.
It took my family and friends by surprise because I am known to an introvert who couldn't string words properly. My family are dead against it because they felt that I can't survive the industry and that I had wasted my education and a good career.
I have an average IQ and certainly not the most knowledgable adviser. However, I assure my professionalism and integrity to give my clients the best value. Do drop me an email if you like to seek my opinion on your finance.

Hope you make more money in 2008. Look on the bright side - at least you got a pretty wife!
'If money is your hope for independence, you will never have it.The only security that a man will have in this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience, and ability.'Henry Ford.
You already have a good reserve, just try to increase it.
This is a job I love. If money do not comes in, I may have to give up a job that I love because I love my family too.
Who doesn't love his family? It isn't just a trade-off between a job and a family.Indeed,if the crunch ever comes, your knowledge and ability(your reserve)can be put to good use somewhere.Unlike a job, they can never be taken away from you.Despite all the setbacks, persevere. The darkest hour is always before dawn.
Adrian i thought its upgrade IPPT target to Gold? HAHA
As for Career, as mentioned before, talk this insurance job as part time and get a full time paid job.
